 Fixing My Eyes on Jesus
Daily Moments in His Word
By: Anne Graham Lotz

Each year I enjoy adding a new devotional to my morning quiet time. This year I was delighted to have the opportunity to receive a copy of Fixing My Eyes on Jesus by Anne Graham Lotz. Over the years I have read a couple of her books, including similar daily devotionals.

This volume includes 365 daily devotions. Each devotion begins with a Bible verse and is followed with a few paragraphs to apply the truth of the verse to our daily lives. Though short in length I find there is much to consider in each devotion. I love the theme of Fixing My Eyes on Jesus - what better way could we start our day or year? Anne Graham Lotz shares way we can fix our eyes and thoughts on Jesus in a way that is easy to understand and apply.

Fixing My Eyes on Jesus is truly a beautiful book. When I opened my copy I was expecting a smaller book, it measures a generous 6 5/8" wide by 8 3/4" long. The cover is faux leather and embossed with gold lettering. On the back cover Hebrews 12:2 is embossed in gold lettering, I thought that was a uniquely special touch.

Fixing My Eyes on Jesus would make a lovely gift! It is definitely a book I would share with loved ones. Throughout the year ahead I look forward to being further inspired to fix my eyes on Jesus!

*I received a complimentary copy of Fixing My Eyes on Jesus from Book Look Blogger in exchange for my honest review*

I love how Hebrews 12:2 is imprinted on the back of this book!

" Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

  1. Happy New Year, Sarah! Thank you for sharing the devotional book you are using this year. I am using an old favorite again this year: Daily with the King by W. Glyn Evans. For many years I used My Utmost for His Highest, as well as several Any Carmichael books. If you've never read her little volume entitled, If, I highly recommend that you check it out! Exceedingly convicting!
God bless you as you continue to answer the call to minister to homemakers with your faithful blog posts throughout the coming year.

    1. Thank you so much, Lori! I have not read "If" by Amy Carmichael, so thank you for the recommendation! I love discovering new (to me) classic devotionals. Every year I read either "Faith's Checkbook" or "Mornings and Evenings" by C.H. Spurgeon. Both devotionals are favorites that I never tire of reading. : ) May the LORD bless you throughout 2019 as you continue to seek Him!

  2. Hi Sarah,

Years ago my husband gave me "Mornings and Evenings" by C.H. Spurgeon. I'm glad he chose a hardcover version as it has been well-loved over time as I have found much encouragement and comfort in it's pages!

    Have a lovely day!

PS ~ Recently I began listening to a Librivox recording of "Marcia Schuyler" by GLH while crocheting blankets for our little grandaughters. It is an enjoyable cozy combination for me! :-)

    1. Hi Lynne,

"Marcia Schuyler" is one of my favorites! Recently a blogging friend recommended that I read "Ester Ried" by Isabella Alden/Pansy, GLH's aunt. Are you familiar with her books? There are over 30 of Alden's books on the Librivox website. I have just listened to "Ester Ried" and am currently listening to "Julia Ried". They are truly wonderful stories! I have been very inspired by both.

May you have a blessed day!

      Sarah

    2. Hi Sarah,

I have heard of these titles and will keep them in mind for after I listen to the other two books in the "Marcia Schuyler" trilogy. :-)
Thank you for bringing them to my attention and for the recommendation! ~ Lynne

  3. This sounds like a wonderful daily devotional, thank you forsharing this with us.

My dear Stephanie gifted me with a devotional and journal "Graced Laced" for Christmas, and I have enjoyed the author's simple writings.
I enjoy spiritual growth books, but sometimes simple is a nice change, yet still teachable in the Scriptures.

    Have a beautiful week ♡
